-ismo is an all-volunteer, submission-based, quarterly publication. It is a platform for investigation and creative/analytical thought about anything from identity and community to policy and history. We value work that revels in the discomfort of asking the difficult questions, and that continues to explore them despite knowing there is no real answer. We value stories and truths that get overlooked.
- We accept pitches for pieces in any stage of completion that relate to the theme, on a quarterly cycle. We then review and choose contributors to work closely with editors on developing a piece for publication.
- We accept submissions in the form of text, photo, multimedia, and any mix of the three. We do allow more than one submission per contributor, although we do not recommend submitting more than three.
- We accept original work from anyone, regardless of age, religion, gender identity, sexuality, race, ethnicity, ability, immigration status, or education.
